Jeanne Benson-Smith Academy of Dance
JBS Academy of Dance, the official classical ballet school of the Marion Ballet Theatre, was established in the 1970’s by Jeanne Benson-Smith. Located in the heart of Ocala, FL, the school also serves as a premiere ballet and dance academy in north-central Florida. As a result, each year many of our gifted students are invited to join many of our nation’s leading ballet companies and schools where they dance in summer intensive programs and pursue professional careers or educations in the art of dance. Part our students success can be attributed to their extensive performance training and experience provided by the Marion Ballet Theatre for the past 30 years. JBS Academy of Dance offers education at all levels in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and more.
